Judges Look for Bath's Bright Sparks

Judges in Bath's annual Fireworks Safety Poster Competition gathered last week to choose the winning design.
The competition which is sponsored by Bath Building Society received over 4,500 entries from school pupils and children from across the city. The winning design will be used to promote next years city centre fireworks display at The Rec.
On the panel this year were Rob Davis from Avon Fire and Rescue, Chief Executive of Bath Building Society Dick Jenkins, Editor of the Bath Chronicle Sam Holliday, cllr Tim Ball, Chair of the Rotary Club of Bath Mike Knight, as well as representatives from the Bath Society of Artists.
Mike Knight from the Rotary Club of Bath, who organise both the fireworks display and the poster competition said, "We have been delighted with the response to this years competition. The standard of entry was high, and we think we have chosen a winner that will look superb on next year's posters around the city."

The winning design will be announced at a special ceremony being held this Friday at the Mayor's Parlour.
Tickets for this year's fireworks display on 5th November at The Rec are on sale from Bath Building Society's offices throughout Bath. Ticket costs £4 for adults and £1 for children if bought in advance, and £5 for adults and £2 for children if purchased on the night.
