A total of 97 per cent of customers agreed that the Society does a good job in supporting the local community. Over recent years a range of community events, including the Brain of Bath, Bath Young Musician, the annual Round Table Fireworks display and the Mid Somerset Festival, have all received sponsorship and support from Bath Building Society.
In addition to this, there is the annual Bath Building Society Charity Awards - a scheme designed to award meaningful contributions to charities and community groups based in and around Bath.
Dick Jenkins added, "It is as important to us as a Building Society to offer our support to the local community as it is to look after the financial wellbeing of our members. Bath Building Society endeavours to support a range of initiatives which bring benefits to a wide cross section of the community, and it's good to know that our members appreciate that."
"The annual members survey presents us with a good opportunity to gain constructive feedback in all areas, and I'm delighted that in 2008 we have continued to improve across the board. Improving in all areas is something we always aim to do, and it presents a positive outlook for the future of Bath Building Society."
Members who completed the annual survey were automatically entered into a prize draw to win a pair of tickets for a flight in the Society's hot air balloon. This year's winner was Russell Harwood from Radstock. Bath Building Society also donates 20p to Dorothy House Hospice Care for each survey completed and returned, this year totalling £313.80
