Drop-In Advice Sessions for First Time Buyers

Bath Building Society will be hosting a series of drop in sessions specifically to help young professionals and students to find out more about getting onto the property ladder.

The Society has made a name for itself in recent years as an innovator in the field of mortgages for first-time-buyers, due largely to the successes of its Buy for Uni student mortgage and Parent Assisted Mortgage Scheme (PAMS).

Both products enable young buyers with limited or no deposit to purchase their first home, with their parents acting as guarantors.

The advice sessions will be held every Wednesday afternoon at the Moorland Road branch from 9.30am – 4.30pm, beginning on 17th February 2010.  It is also possible to book an appointment to speak with a mortgage advisor outside these times by calling the mortgage department on 01225 475721.

Gill Orchard from Bath Building Society said, “The mortgage market has changed a lot in recent years, and it has become very difficult for first time buyers to purchase their own homes without a huge deposit. We have products designed specifically for first time buyers and we welcome any one who would like to talk through their options with us.”

The launch of the drop in sessions also coincides with Bath Building Society’s announcement that its PAMS mortgage is now available as a 95 per cent mortgage (previously 90 per cent). With PAMS, equity in the parental home can be used as additional security.
