Exciting Development Brings Bath Businesses Together
Bath Building Society has joined forces with a host of Bath-based businesses working on an exciting accommodation development in the heart of Bath.

Working in partnership with award-winning developer The Osborne Group, Bath Building Society has been selected as the preferred mortgage lender for the development on Broad Street, which will see nine apartments and one house created in an historic area of the city.

The development is a Grade II listed building steeped in history and character, which will be renovated by local firm Emery's Builders. Work is due to commence at the end of May and will take approximately 12 months to complete.

The site, which formerly housed the Bath Postal Museum, was the building in which the first recorded posting of a Penny Black stamp took place on 2nd May 1840, and all companies involved in the development are sure that many people will be interested in this opportunity to purchase a unique part of Bath's history.

One of the development's key features is a two-bedroom Jacobian house, one of the oldest in the city, and throughout the building many original features, including staircases and fireplaces, will be restored to their former glory.

Bath Building Society will be acting as the preferred lender for apartments within the building, helping people to find a home in what will inevitably be one of the most desirable parts of the city.

Steve Matthews, Mortgage Sales Manager for Bath Building Society believes the development will bring together some of the city's most well-established and reputable firms to help preserve another part of the city's heritage and create something special.

He said, "Bath Building Society is delighted to have been approached to act as the preferred lender for this development. Working alongside locally-based companies such as Emery's Builders and the Osborne Group is ideal, as this project is about bringing together the best of Bath to create something truly unique in the heart of our city."

"We're expecting a lot of interest in the development, and we're proud to be in a position where we can potentially enable Bath residents to purchase a part of history."

Trevor Osborne, Chairman of the Osborne Group added, "We're pleased to be working with companies such as Bath Building Society on this venture. This development will be in keeping with the city of Bath, and will be preserving an important part of the city's heritage.
