Bath’s Flippin’ Pancake Race is set to return on 16th February, as the coveted Frying Pan Trophy goes up for grabs once again.
Last year saw the inaugural race, bringing a traditional event back to the heart of the city. The race attracted 16 teams from across Bath, with the Street Pastors emerging as the victors on the day.
This year’s event, sponsored once again by Bath Building Society, will see teams of four compete in a relay-style pancake race in the city centre. The race will be held at the new Southgate development, and will raise funds for Dorothy House Hospice Care.
Teams will pay a £25 entry fee to take part, with all proceeds going to the charity. Last year’s event raised over £300 for Julian House in Bath.
It is set to be a real community event, with businesses and organisations coming together in support of a local charity.

Local Town Crier Peter Dauncey will be there on the day to start the proceedings, along with Mayor of Bath, Cllr Colin Barrett. City of Bath College will also be providing the pancakes for the race, which promises to be a fun and lively city centre event.
Dick Jenkins, Chief Executive of race sponsor Bath Building Society, said, “Last year’s event was a real success. It was great to see a traditional event like this back in the city centre, raising money for a local cause. We’re hoping even more teams will step forward this year to take part in a bid to have their name immortalised on the Frying Pan Trophy.”
Community fundraiser for Dorothy House Emily Knight added, "We're really delighted that Bath’s Flippin’ Pancake Race will be raising money for Dorothy House, and that Bath Building Society has chosen to support the hospice in this way. We'll certainly be putting a team together to take part: it sounds like a lot of fun!"
Bath’s Flippin’ Pancake Race is being held at lunchtime on Tuesday 16th February at Southgate (outside the new H&M store), with the first race starting at 1pm. If you would like to enter a team in the race, contact Ben Carey at Creatrix PR on 01225 423400 or email ben@creatrixpr.co.uk.
