Opening an account is really quite simple

Our helpful staff will be pleased to discuss your requirements and to recommend the right type of account to suit you, depending on the amount you have to invest, and the interest rate you are looking to achieve.

The good news is that Bath Building Society has a range of accounts to suit all needs, from lump sum, easy access accounts to monthly regular savings.

Whatever account suits you, an application form will need to be completed in full.  These can be obtained from our Branch and Agency offices.

When opening an account, you will also need to provide evidence of your identity and your current address (ideally we would like to see a driving licence).

A list of acceptable documents is available below, or alternatively, from our Branch and Agency offices, or through our Helpdesk at Head Office.  However, if you feel you may have problems providing documents from this list, then speak to one of our staff who will be able to advise an appropriate solution.  All original documents supplied will be photocopied and returned to you.

Once opened, you will be provided with a passbook that will show all transactions on your account.
