Increase in Enquiries for Charity Award Scheme
Bath Building Society has seen an increase in enquiries regarding its charity award scheme this year.

The top award in this year’s scheme has been increased to £1,500, and there is still time for community groups and charities to apply for support through the Awards. Organisations have until 30th June to submit their application for the judging panel to consider.

Jonathan Cook from Bath Building Society, said, “We’re proud to be at the heart of our community. The majority of our customers are from Bath and surrounding areas, and so each year we pledge our support to causes operating within communities in and around the city. Any organisation is welcome to apply.”

“We have increased our charity contributions this year as a sign of our commitment to supporting the wealth of charitable work that goes on in our city.”

The panel this year consists of Jilly Edwards from the Quartet Community Foundation, the incoming Mayor of Bath, Councillor Shaun McGall, Editor of the Bath Chronicle, Sam Holliday and Chief Executive of Bath Building Society, Dick Jenkins.

Applications forms are available from the Bath Building Society website www.bathbuildingsociety.co.uk or can be obtained by contacting Ben Carey on 01225 423400. The deadline to apply for an award is 30th June 2010. Judging will take place in July with donations presented to the chosen charities in September.
