King’s Court Trust Batter the Competition
Businesses and organisations from in and around Bath met at SouthGate earlier this week to take part in the city’s biggest and best pancake race.
Sponsored by Bath Building Society, Bath’s Flippin’ Pancake Race 2010 saw teams including Boots, Bath Tourism Plus and St John’s Hospital battle it out in a city centre relay-style pancake race.
But on the day, King’s Court Trust proved themselves to be the best flippers, beating Moger’s, SouthGate and Bath Rugby in the final to win the Frying Pan Trophy.
The event was held in support of Dorothy House Hospice Care, with all entry fees going to the charity along with the proceeds from a collection on the day.
The race saw a number of familiar faces joining in with the fun. Town Crier, Peter Dauncey, opened proceedings and The Mayor of Bath Councillor Colin Barrett also joined in on the action by starting the first heat.
Dick Jenkins, Chief Executive of race sponsor Bath Building Society, said, “This is the second year we have sponsored Bath’s Flippin’ Pancake Race, and I was once again delighted with the support the event received. Not only is it a fun event that adds to the vibrancy of the city, it also raises money and awareness for local causes, this year Dorothy House.”
Emily Knight from Dorothy House added, “It was a really great to see everyone taking part and enjoying themselves. On behalf of Dorothy House I would like to thank Bath Building Society for sponsoring the event, and helping to raise money for Dorothy House, and our congratulations go to the race winners.”
