Last Call For Pancake Race Entries
With Bath's Flippin' Pancake Race taking place in less than a week's time, now is the last chance for local businesses to sign up and take part in a community event that is sure to bring fun to the heart of the city.
The race, sponsored by Bath Building Society, has been received well by Bath's business community, with teams including Juice Recruitment, Mediaclash and The Podium being the first teams to sign up.
It promises to be a real community event in the heart of Bath, with businesses and organisations coming together in support of a local charity. Town Crier Sean Price will be there on the day to start the proceedings, along with Mayor of Bath cllr Tim Ball. City of Bath College will also be providing the pancakes for the race.
Bath's Flippin' Pancake Race is being held at lunchtime on Tuesday 24th February on Union Street, with the first race starting at 1pm. Teams of four will be competing in a relay race whilst flipping their pancakes as they go, with the ultimate aim of walking away with the coveted Frying Pan Trophy.
The traditional event is being organised by Eventy - Marketing & PR who brought the Egg & Spoon Race to Queen Square last May. It costs just £20 to enter a team into the race with all entry fees being donated to local charity Julian House.
Dick Jenkins, Chief Executive of Bath Building Society, said, "We're delighted with the reaction we've had to this event. Businesses are keen to get involved, and the Bath community is really pulling together to bring a little bit of fun to the city centre. It's important to make sure these sort of events keep happening in Bath, and whilst we'll all be there to have some fun, we'll also be helping to raise some funds for Julian House at the same time."
