Last Call for Entries in Bath’s Flippin’ Pancake Race
Teams wanting to take part in Bath’s Flippin’ Pancake Race 2010 have until next Monday (15th February) to register.
Teams from across Bath including Bailbrook House, Mediaclash and race sponsors Bath Building Society, have been signing up to be in with a chance of winning the prestigious event.
Sponsored by Bath Building Society, Bath’s Flippin’ Pancake Race is being held at 1pm on Tuesday 16th February at Southgate, and will see teams of four competing in a relay-style race, flipping their pancakes as they compete to have their name immortalised on the coveted Frying Pan Trophy.
The race is being held in support of Dorothy House Hospice Care, with all entry fees from the race going to the charity. It will be the first charity event to be held at the new SouthGate development.
The race promises to be a real community event in the heart of Bath, with businesses and organisations coming together in support of a local charity. Town Crier Peter Dauncey will be there on the day to start the proceedings, along with Mayor of Bath cllr Colin Barrett. City of Bath College will also be providing the pancakes for the race, which promises to be a fun and lively city centre event.
Dick Jenkins, Chief Executive of Bath Building Society said, “SouthGate provides the ideal backdrop to the race, and we’re delighted to be hosting the first charity event here in support of Dorothy House. Last year was a hotly-fought contest, and I’m sure many of the same teams will be back again this year in a bid to win the race trophy.”
