VOTING IS NOW CLOSED.

We asked Bath Building Society colleagues to nominate a charity close to their heart, who they believe do great work in the local community, and would like to see the Society partner with as our next Charity of the Year. And now it’s your turn…

Please vote for your choice from this shortlist of three local charities that you’d like to see the Society support in 2023. You can email your chosen charity to members@bibs.co.uk by 13th November 2022

Bath Foodbank provide three-day emergency food parcels to people and families in crisis. For people on low incomes, a sudden change in circumstances such as redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill, can mean going hungry. Bath Foodbank aims to support these people and ensure everyone can access food when they need it. They are entirely dependent on voluntary contributions of food and finance for the running of the Foodbank. Bath Foodbank is a Trussell Trust Foodbank and is one of the projects of Genesis Trust Bath. It is run by three part-time members of staff who are greatly supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Bath Mind is a local and independently run mental health charity which supports the mental health and wellbeing of people across B&NES. Established in 1998 by a group of local people, and although affiliated to the national Mind charity by brand, they run entirely independently and receive no direct funding from Mind. They therefore rely heavily on local fundraising to help support people in need throughout our community. They are here to promote and nurture everyone’s mental health through the provision of information, activities, advice, and support. From their crisis telephone support line to mental health support in A&E, community services, counselling, wellbeing groups, supported-living and mental health training in the workplace and in schools and much more; they are here for the people of B&NES.

Dorothy House provide exceptional personalised care to people in our local community who are approaching death. Dorothy House believe every life is incredibly precious, and no-one should face death alone. They are there for patients and their loved ones, as much or as little as they need the support. Standards of care reach deep into our local community. Through ten locally-focused care teams, Dorothy House help people prepare for the end of their lives and equip more people to provide the care we all deserve.

Our Charity of the Year 2023 will be announced by the end of November 2022. Thanks for your support.
