PR & Communications Manager Maternity Cover (6 months contract)
An opportunity has arisen to help us to build our marketing capability and grow our membership.

We are an established and trusted mutual Financial Services company based in the centre of the lovely city of Bath that offers its employees a great place to work and the opportunity to make a genuine difference in a business that is more focused on its members than it is profit.

The Company: Bath Building Society is a small company famous locally and across the country for the great care we take of members and employees alike.  Our focus is on Savings and Mortgages – and nothing else!  We believe in mutuality and delivering sustainable growth for our members rather than just  focusing on profit.

The Position: We’re looking for maternity cover for our PR and Communications Manager.

The pay range we’re offering is equivalent to £40,000 per annum and we are happy to consider either a six month fixed contract or a day rate contractor. We offer a competitive package working in a supportive team which genuinely feels like one big family.  For employees; rather than self-employed contractors, we also offer the annual equivalent of 25 days holiday (plus public holidays) a generous pension scheme and after a qualifying period, death in service and health care benefits.  And we are happy to consider part time applicants – minimum 3 days a week

Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience working in Marketing Communications – ideally in Financial Services
  • The ability to create compelling and creative copy/content. Experience of using CMS, CRM, analytics and Social Media Management tools
  • Ability to work to deadlines/effective time management
  • A self-starter who can work on own initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • To promote the Society in the media and manage all advertising
  • To manage the Society’s community involvement
  • To manage the Society’s website and social media presence
  • To develop the membership relationship programme
  • To manage internal communications.

The Location: Our Head Office is based on Queen Square in the centre of Bath. This is a great place to work not just because it is a world heritage site, a haven for foodies with cracking pubs and bars but has green and luscious water all around.

Being in the centre of Bath it is only a short walk to the train station and bus station. By train you can then be in London in 90 minutes and Bristol in 15 minutes.

Why should you apply?

  • We offer a competitive salary and don’t expect you to work silly hours
  • You will be able to make a real difference
  • And you will be working with great people who care and know their stuff

How should you apply?

If you would like to apply please send a CV and covering letter to Colin McDougall, Head of Marketing & Savings, Bath Building Society, 15 Queen Square, Bath BA1 2HN or you can email Colin at colinmcdougall@bibs.co.uk
