The Bath Fireworks Display
The Rotary Club of Bath hosted their annual Fireworks Display at the Rec on Saturday 4 November 2017 which was again sponsored by The Society.
The main charity for the 2017 event is Focus Counselling in Bath. Jan Robertson, Chief Executive, established Focus Counselling 19 years ago to provide person-centred therapy for families, adults, young people, children, and couples. As the prevalence of mental health problems are increasing on a national level, we have found that our services are needed more than ever. Focus Counselling offers a safe and confidential space for clients to speak openly about their struggles.
Their clients are often overwhelmed and find themselves pushed beyond their capacity to manage. The mental health concerns faced by their clients include, but are not limited to: Anorexia nervosa, anxiety and panic, bereavement and loss, bullying and cyber bullying, bulimia nervosa, depression, unspecified eating disorders, peer relationships, gender identity, grief, romantic relationships and sexuality, stress, self-harm and suicidal ideation.
In response to the demand of services, Focus is also currently working in several schools in Bath and the surrounding area. In attempts to further their reach they also offer two groups: an eating disorder support group for adults and an anxiety support group for young people.
Their aim is to empower people to become more fulfilled and productive. In embodying the core conditions of unconditional positive regard, empathy, no judgement, and genuineness, our team will help individuals explore ways to make positive changes in their lives.
