Winners announced of the Fireworks Safety Poster competition 2016
Children from 40 schools in Bath have entered this year’s Fireworks Safety poster competition sponsored by Bath Building Society and supported by The Rotary Club of Bath. The winners of the five categories were given a money voucher to open a Bath Building Society Account, a 51 piece art set and a Bath Building Society goody bag.
Age 4-5 years

3rd: Edward Mussert, St John's Catholic VA Primary School
Age 6–7 years
1st: Ned Brown, St Marys R C Primary School
2nd: Laura Cannock, King Edwards Pre-Prep School
3rd: Kate Hamnett, Newbridge Primary School
Age 8-9 years
1st: Katie Palmer, St Stephens C of E Primary School
2nd: Jonathan Atwell, Moorlands Infants & Junior School
3rd: Ferris Radcliffe, Combe Down C of E Primary School
Age 10 years plus
1st: Arlo Radcliffe, Combe Down C of E Primary School
2nd: Lois Edwards, Combe Down C of E Primary School
3rd:Emily Whiteley, The Royal High
The overall winner of the competition was Arlo Radcliffe from Combe Down C of E Primary School
The posters were judged on their Fireworks safety message and artistic merit. The judges for this year’s competition were: Councillor Paul Crossley the Mayor of Bath, Gareth Lloyd and Russell Bennett from Avon Fire & Rescue Service, John Vickery, the President of The Rotary Club of Bath, Tiffany Hardie-Albutt from Bath Building Society and Martine Wensley.
All the children that entered the competition have been given a Free Child Voucher that can be exchanged for a ticket to the Display when purchasing an Adult ticket.
The Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday 5th November this year at The Recreation Ground and will be run by The Rotary Club of Bath and sponsored by Bath Building Society.
Tickets can be bought from all Bath Building Society branches, Bath Property Letting in Southgate, Bath Rugby Ticket Office, the Students’ Union at the University of Bath and the Bath Box Office Ticket Agency (Bath Tourism Office).
Standard Adult admission costs £5 if bought in advance, and £6 on the gate. Children’s tickets are £3 in advance and £4 on the gate.
All money raised at this year’s event will go to the headline charities Bath Samaritans and Bath & District MS Society.
