Customers can now apply online for all personal savings accounts.

Customers can now choose to apply online for our range of personal savings accounts, 24/7.

The online application process takes less than 15 minutes and is already proving popular with customers. Initial feedback tells us that over 50% of customers apply for new accounts outside of traditional working hours. And new Members tell us they found the application process simple and straightforward, with 9 out of 10 being able to complete the application without the need to upload additional documentation thanks to our electronic security checks.

Colin McDougall, Head of Savings, said:

“This is a big step forward for us and will further improve the excellent service we already provide to our Members; whether they want to apply for an account from the comfort of home or when visiting one of our Branches or Agencies. Going forward we will also be developing a mobile app which will provide even more functionality for our Members. This is planned for introduction next year.”

As well as opening a savings account, the online application process automatically registers new Members for Bath Online, where customers can manage their account, view balances, request transfers, update details and send secure messages to the customer service team.
